Tony’s Mabo Tofu

Our favourite freshman in Dickinson, TonTon chef finally cooked for us old seniors. It only took him 3 hours to cook but omg it was worth waiting. I felt bad being hangry and whining the whole time.

Ingredients

Ginger garlic, salad or sesame oil, tofu, green onion(as much as you want), grounded pork(200-300g), 豆瓣酱, soy sauce,(1 tsp) oyster sauce(1tsp), miso, water and starch(potato or corn), Japanese black pepper

Amount
Ginger and garlic – 1 table spoon each
[A] mix oyster sauce, soy sauce, sake, and miso – 1 table spoon each
2-4 teaspoons of 豆瓣酱, 1/4 cup of water
[B] mix 1 teaspoon of starch and 2 teaspoons of water
Japanese black pepper – 1-2 teaspoons
Instructions
1) Get the water off from the tofu using a paper towel, and cut them to cubes
2) Chop garlic and ginger to small pieces. Cut the green onion (less than a cm width)
3) Heat the frying pan, add sesame oil, and then add the chopped ginger and garlic
4) Then wait for a minute and add green onion
5) Once you start to smell the…stuff? Add grounded pork to the frying pan
6) When the pork is 85% cooked, add [A]
7) When the pork is fully cooked, add tofu
8) When it started to simmer, stop the heat and add [B]
9) Mix it well and reheat turn the heat back again(do not wait until it gets cold. This should be done in like 90sec)
10) Mix well until it gets thick!
11) Add Japanese black pepper and little bit(less than a teaspoon) of sesame oil IF YOU WANT
