Carlisle, PA is sprinkled with a bunch of amazing restaurants, and Mt Fuji is one known for its amazing and unique sushi. It tastes like heaven in your mouth!
My brother came to visit, so naturally I had to feed him; it’s the Indian tradition. And what better way to feed a Zimbabwean/American/Indian than with Japanese food. Fits right into the random mix of cultures, and who doesn’t love sushi? With my limited knowledge of sushi I obviously decided to order for the two of us.
Salmon is by far the best fish to exist, so, of course one role had to include salmon – the Red Lion Roll, which also includes yellowtail, avocado, tuna and tobiko (pictured on the left). Add a little soy sauce and ginger to the roll (unfortunately I’m not a big wasabi fan) and it becomes perfect, the flavors of the different fish enhance each other, and the tobiko gives a little tingly feeling while eating, all coming together beautifully. Next I ordered the Valentine Roll, consisting of shrimp tempura, avocado, masago, tuna, spicy mayo and eel sauce…delicious! Adding ginger and soy sauce to this again, also because I have an obsession with soy sauce, and you can taste the crunch of the shrimp tempura aligned with a hint of spice from the mayo. Just great for any occasion!
On top of all this delicious sushi, Mt Fuji has 50% off all of it’s sushi rolls. Crazy and wonderful for all broke college students! More so, it has had this discount price for over a year. I question why they don’t change the price, maybe it’s a good marketing scheme, but either way, I am overjoyed by the great cheap sushi!
